Today I was thrilled when one of my photos was published in the Sheffield Star newspaper. It was one of my Tour de France photos from a few weeks back and it was published in an article about a Facebook page called Pictures of Sheffield old and new. I posted a few of my Tour photos into the group a few weeks ago and members of the page were kind enough to comment and like them.
The page has been going since 2007 and has recently racked up 16,000 members and 30,000 photos, all of which are from Sheffield. This is obviously a great achievement so the Star wrote an article about the page. I was very surprised that one of the page admins contacted me yesterday asking if it was OK for him to send one of my photos to the Star but I of course said yes. And I was even more thrilled when I bought the paper and saw that my photo was published!
This was a great achievement considering how many photos have been submitted to the group.
