Thanks to my friends at Marketing Sheffield, I was booked to photograph the 40th IPPA International Advanced Course in Paediatric Pathology. This prestigious course was brought to Sheffield by Sheffield Children's Hospital Pathologist, Dr Marta Cohen.
Delegates from 35 countries gathered in Sheffield for the course which was held at the lovely Royal Victoria Holiday Inn. Having been hosted in a variety of European destinations over the years, it was apt that the course returned to Sheffield as the first course was organised by Sheffield Pathologist Prof John Emery.
I was booked for two photoshoots. The first to take a group photo of all of the delegates at the hotel on the Sunday. Then again on the Thursday for a small ceremony at Sheffield Children’s Hospital reminiscing on the very first course and an unveiling of a plaque to honour Professor Emery and his legacy as a pioneer of paediatric pathology. It was attended by the CEO of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Mr Peter Emery, John’s son and other family members, the current IPPA President and past course directors.
Both shoots were a lot of fun and it was great to photograph such a prestigious event. And I was thrilled to see that one of my photos was picked up by The Sheffield Telegraph.
You can see above that we had some fun during the group shot which I just couldn't resist to turn into a GIF. The rest of the photos are below.
