I was very fortunate to be booked to photograph the Investors in the Environment and Pennine Pack awards event on Wednesday afternoon. It was at the fantastic Lambert's Yard in Leeds which was the perfect venue: trendy loft conversion style layout with lots of low light filament bulbs, red brick walls and vintage floors. And not forgetting a lovely little bar serving beer, wine and soft drinks.
The event was organised to highlight, and present awards to, companies and organisations who have made significant reductions in resources such as electricity, water and other resources. The highlight for me was the fact that Barnsley Metrodome have installed two 'superloos' that use 80% less water per flush!
I took lots of initial photos of people arriving and networking followed by the talks by John Mooney, Director of Pennine Pack and by keynote speaker, Tony Juniper. Tony is a campaigner, writer, sustainability advisor and leading British environmentalist. His talk was fascinating.
Following on from the talks Becky and Graham from Pennine Pack then gave out awards to members of Investors in the Environment and Pennine Pack for their environmental achievements. i then took a group photo of the winners.
I'm thrilled to say that I've been provisionally booked to photograph the same event again next year and I already can't wait!
