I had a blast photographing Lorah and Terry's wedding at the weekend. It was a wonderful day fun of lots of sunshine, laughter and love.
I was booked to photograph the wedding by Lorah's brother Deyne, an old photography friend of mine. He said that when his sister got married he wanted me to photograph the wedding. Thanks for the booking Deyne!
Lorah and Deyne certainly know how to organise a great do. They chose two fantastic venues: the Church of St. Peter ad Vincula, Bottesford for the ceremony and Grange Park Golf Club for the reception and evening do.
I started off the day with the bridal party taking photos of the girls getting ready. It was a busy, yet very relaxed, couple of hours mainly thanks to the great organisational skills of Emma, one of the bridesmaids. The bridal party were getting ready at her house and she had them all up at 8AM for a 2:30PM wedding start. So it was easy for me to wander about taking snaps as they had their hair and make up done. Not even a bird flying into the house before I arrived put them off!
I then headed over to the church to photograph guests arriving and also speak to the vicar. She wanted to speak to me about the photography and she couldn't have been more lovely and accommodating to my photography needs. She ran a really lovely, relaxed ceremony and I loved her attitude to including children in the ceremony: they will make noise and parents should just let them. She didn't want any parent to say "shush!" or similar and provided lego at the back for the children to play with.
I made a few GIFs from the ceremony as well as one of the happy couple driving away from the church in a wonderful classic car.
The reception and evening dos at Grange Park were lovely too. The venue was very tastefully decorated and the BBQ was delicious (thanks Lorah and Terry for letting me have some as well as a lovely Eton Mess too!).
All in all it was wonderful and below are my highlights from the day.
