This year at Tramlines I was working for Exposed Magazine, the excellent free monthly entertainment and listings magazine. As well as producing Exposed, the team also produces Tramlines Times (TT) for the festival, a free daily paper given out each day at the festival. In the past some of my photos have been featured in TT but as I was working for the festival they were also used for the website, social media and press. This year was the first year for me that I was directly working to have photos published in the newspaper. And I loved it!
Joe Food, Editor of Tramlines Times, was really happy with my work and left me a lovely review on my Google page:
"Simon was assigned to shoot a number of shows during Sheffield's Tramlines Festival for a daily paper I was editing, The Tramlines Times. Enthusiastic and friendly, Simon submitted his work ahead of deadlines each day and the quality was superb. He's a pleasure to work with!"
There was a small team of 3 photographers covering TT and I was fortunate to have my photos on the front cover of both the Saturday and Sunday editions of the paper! Above you can see my photo of the excellent Johnny Marr on the Sunday edition. And below you can see my photo of the equally excellent James Dean Bradfield of the Manics was on the front cover of the Saturday edition too.
My photos were also heavily featured inside the paper on both days too as you can see below. It was a great experience being so heavily involved with Tramlines Times this year and I hope to do the same again next year.
