Last week I had a blast photographing 5 Urban Studies and Planning (USP) students at the University of Sheffield. The USP department needed some new marketing photos of their student ambassadors to use in their departmental prospectuses, website and other uses. I was very happy to oblige.
The reason why the shoot was so enjoyable was because we took the students to many different locations, the best of which were Kelham Island and Neepsend the scene for many of Nat and Ryan's wedding photos last year. It was also because the 5 students were great company and made for great subjects.
Charles MacDonald-Jones, the Marketing Assistant from the department booked me and he wrote a lovely review on my Google page about the photos: "Very quick turnaround on the processing. Simon got some great pictures and was helpful with his suggestions. A good experience from start to finish."
The reason why we went to Kelham Island and Neepsend was to simulate a field trip that these students routinely do during their studies. It was great fun photographing them by the iconic street art and both the new and industrial heritage buildings of the area. We also visited the USP / Geography department labs (that were a lot like chemistry labs, who knew?!), a USP seminar room, Weston Park, Firth Court and the Student's Union which were also great locations.
